‘It’s coming home!’: Twitter users heap praise on England they reach the World Cup final
England crushed Australia to reach the final of the World Cup on Thursday and Twitter was full of praise for Eoin Morgan’s men.
The hosts, who won with nearly 18 overs to spare, will meet New Zealand in their first World Cup final since 1992 on Sunday.
Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid shone with the ball, sharing six wickets to bowl the Aussies out for 223, while Jason Roy’s brilliant 85 allowed Joe Root and Eoin Morgan to secure the victory under little pressure.

And naturally former players and fans were quick to take to social media to hail the display.
An host of England greats got in on the act, the likes of Michael Vaughan, Stuart Broad and Alec Stewart expressing their delight.
Former batsman Kevin Pietersen summed up the mood of the nation, simply writing ‘it’s coming home’ alongside a trophy emoticon.
Australian counterpart Brett Lee kept his reaction brief, admitting England were just ‘too good today’.
A number of celebrities clearly enjoyed the game, former England striker Gary Lineker joking that his thoughts were with his ‘Australian friends at this difficult time’.
There was also plenty of individual praise for Jason Roy, who more than did his job at the top of the order.
Ex-England spinner Graeme Swann perhaps put it best, describing the innings as ‘pure bliss’.
