Bridget Malcolm says she suffers long-term effects of her eating disorder

Bridget Malcolm, 27, conquered an eating disorder two years ago.

But the Victoria’s Secret model has revealed that she still suffers from long-term health implications caused by her disorder.

Penning a blog post on her website this Monday, Bridget wrote: ‘A decade of starving myself has left me with some terrible lingering health problems.’

‘I have real problems with my hormones, as well as some body injuries that will never heal. I do not digest food well, nor do I tolerate certain foods at all.’

Bridget added that she had to ‘make peace’ with the fact that she brought these health problems upon herself.

‘There was no point tearing myself (or others) down for it – all I could do was adapt and try to live as best I can,’ she said.

Bridget, who hails from Perth, has enjoyed a successful career as a model, having walked the runway for Peter Som, Kenneth Cole, Tibi, Band of Outsiders, Rodarte, Ralph Lauren and Hache.

She came to prominence in 2015 when she starred in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York.

However, the blonde has since accused the lingerie giant of promoting unhealthy beauty standards.

In a blog post uploaded to her website ahead of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show  last year, Bridget said models are often ‘rewarded with high-profile work’ for ‘starving’ themselves.

‘This time of year is an interesting one for me. It is the time of year that models begin to train very hard and eat significantly less,’ she wrote.
